Telephone Volunteer training that fits your schedule

 

CONTACT helpline volunteers are making a difference in our community 365 days each year.  CONTACT'S comprehensive volunteer training includes information on area agencies, programs, services, and support groups.  There are also special listening and communication techniques classes to equip students with the skills needed to become telephone helpline volunteers.  Sound like something you might like to try?  CONTACT classes can be offered for groups or individuals who express interest in becoming telephone volunteers.  We set a training schedule to fit your needs.  Call us at (423) 246-CARE (2273) to find out more!

Telephone Volunteering when it's convenient for you

 

After completing training, CONTACT volunteers are asked to complete only two 4-hour shifts per month.  Because CONTACT'S helpline is operational from 8am to 11pm, 365 days a year, it is easy to find a shift to fit your schedule.  Volunteers man four (4) phone shifts each day.  The hours are as follows:

1st Volunteer Shift 8am-Noon
2nd Volunteer Shift Noon-4pm
3rd Volunteer Shift 4pm-7pm
4th Volunteer Shift 7pm-11pm

  Volunteers, please call the center to see when you could fill any of the openings.

 

Other ways to Volunteer for CONTACT

 

CONTACT also needs volunteers to assist our office staff.  Information technology, maintenance, fundraising, public relations/marketing, photography, clerical work, accounting, and scrap booking are just a few of the areas in which CONTACT can utilize volunteers immediately.  If you have a unique skill, come share it with us.  We need your help!
