CONTACT HELPLINE INCLUSION/EXCLUSION CRITERIA

I.                     Agencies and/or organizations that meet one or more of the following criteria will be included in the CONTACT database:

A.      Non-profit and governmental agencies providing a health or human service in the CONTACT service area.

B.     Organizations such as churches and social clubs which offer a service to the

community at large and not just their own membership

C.     Neighborhood, civic and business associations

D.     Professional organizations which provide a public service

E.     Advocacy groups related to health and human services issues

F.      Support groups that are sponsored by or affiliated with an agency or church

G.     Organizations which offer volunteer opportunities

H.     Private organizations providing a service not adequately addressed by the non-profit sector

II.                   The following will not be included in the CONTACT database:

A.    Private for-profit organizations unless fitting in criteria I.H above

B.       Private practitioners or therapists

C.       Agencies which deny service on the basis of color, race, religion, sexual orientation,

ancestry or nationality

D.       Illegal services

E.       Agencies which misrepresent their services in any way

III.                  Not classified, informal, not incorporated (e.g. support groups, 800 numbers) may be included at the discretion of the Information Systems manager with the approval of the Executive Director.
